With a keen interest in architecture and sports/health science, Sarah decided to combine her passions and found herself studying a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics.
At the completion of her course, Sarah worked for 2 years at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane where she received great mentoring and exposure to custom made orthotic devices and prosthetics. As she progressed, she developed a keen interest in acute spinal management and the treatment of thigh-riskisk diabetic foot.
2 years later, Sarah decided to return home to friends and family and began working for oapl. The first 2 years at oapl saw Sarah travelling weekly to Canberra to run a 2 day orthotic clinic, and the remaining 3 days in our Fitzroy clinic. It was a great experience that further developed her management and marketing skills as well as her orthotic knowledge, treating both paediatric and adult patients.
Sarah has now been working for oapl for 6 years and, having worked across the majority of oapl clinics in Melbourne, is currently settled at the oapl Ringwood Clinic. She continues to specialise in the management and treatment of the high risk diabetic foot, going weekly to Maroondah Hospital O/P clinic to work closely with the podiatrists and Orthopaedic surgeons. She loves the ongoing challenges of assisting her patients with returning to good health and finds it very rewarding.
