WalkAide - Helping you get a leg up on Foot Drop
The WalkAide System by Innovative Neurotronics is a personal nerve stimulator. It is developed to treat patients who have lost the ability to voluntarily lift their foot as a result of damage to the central nervous system such as stroke, incomplete spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis.
The walkaide system features:
Applied directly to leg - not implanted underneath the skin - which means no surgery is involved
Uniquely positioned tilt sensor
Battery-operated, single-channel, self-contained electrical stimulator with two electrodes and electrode leads
No heel sensor required, providing choice of footware

Usage logs record 72-day cycles of activity data, which can be assesses by the clinician to evaluate patient progress
Easy-to-use controls and indicators with visual and audible cues
Provides two main functions: "Walking" and "Exercise"
How it Works:
Patented tilt accelerometer and inclinometer monitors the angle and speed of the tibia's motion. The customised walking program then triggers the stimulation pattern for an effective foot lift at the appropriate time during walking. This produces a more natural and efficient gait on a wide variety of terrains.
Intelligence-gathering smart technology collects and analyzes gait pattern data and optimizes a program that not only facilitates normal movement, but inhibits the development of compensatory patterns.
Bluetooth enabled technology allows wireless data transfer between the device and the software up to 100 meters away.
Fully customizable solution adjusts to accommodate a patient's individual clinical needs as well as changes to his or her condition.
Cuff holds the system in place; it can be worn discreetly under most clothing and with a greater selection of footwear.
